Without the office

Most of you already knows the news. Automattic office is over.

The pier has declared the building unsafe, and they must leave.

I remember the first time I was at Automattic office. It was 2009. I was with Luis, and there we met with Zé for the first time. We needed a plug for our laptops, and he understood us speaking spanish. Our savior in our first time in the USA 😉

What will happen with Automattic from now on? Basically, nothing. They have lost a perfectly ubicated office, the meeting and co-working space for all this years. But nothing more.

Over the last three years, we have been in the Pier 38 every time we have been in SF for the WordCamp to say hello, to help, to participate… Next year we will miss the Pier, but we will just meet in another place.

Automattic office was the inspiration for the working and co-working space that we have in Mecus right now. We have seen how has changed the decoration, the curtains, the furniture…

We will miss the Pier. But, for sure, not as much as Evan.
